When I write a novel, I use poems as a vehicle to develop my characters because poetry is a powerful way to capture the emotions of the moment. Most my 2024 poems tell the story of Kyle and Isabelle from my novel “The Dangling Conversation.” Read the poems and then read the novel and tell me if story is not the same. I need to put them in the novel’s chronological order but since I don’t write my novels that way, the poems aren’t either. The order of the poems is the most recent to oldest, in other words from December 2024 to January 2024.
