Starts, Stops, and Misdirections
Life’s an awkward journey
filled with starts, stops, and misdirections.
Those who reach the end with
any semblance of success
never
stop moving,
never stop changing.
When we no longer fear
being alone,
we’re no longer alone.
If we let a dream
touch us,
we’re already living that dream.
Only after we forget
our past,
is the past permitted to forget us.
If we just keep moving,
just keep changing,
we’ll reach our dreams
with the person we’re meant to love,
who’ll journey with us
into our most perfect future.
Background poem for the novel, “The Dangling Conversation.” Kyle holds out hope Nadia will change her mind and see that even though there are seemingly insurmountable challenges before them, they can still grow together.
