Poem by R.M. Dolin, February 7, 2024
Forever Girl
I regret my misguided rant
on our last walk
and the unfortunate way
I vented frustration.
If only I had Aladdin’s lamp
for just one wish,
I’d get
that moment back.
I can accept
we can’t
be together right now,
because you’re worth
the wait. A forever girl
is the rarest
treasure on earth,
and you’re
my forever girl.
Background poem for the novel, “The Dangling Conversation.” Kyle regrets venting frustrations about being apart but vows to wait until Nadia’s ready.
