I began writing poems in junior high and had my first published poem included in a book of poetry at thirteen. No matter what kind of writing I do at different times in my life, I always find my way back to poetry. Here are some poems from years past. If you enjoy any of them, let me know and tell me why.

American Haikus and Six Word Short Stories

American Haikus - I need the freedom to Haiku without rules
Six Word Stories - if you need more than six words to tell a compelling story, you talk too much

Poems from 2024

I often use poems to capture, develop, and express the emotions of characters in my novels. Most my 2025 poems (and late 2024 poems), tell the story of Issac from my novel “An Unsustainable Life,” . . . whose says you need ninety-thousand words to tell a story. FYI, poems are listed in reverse chronological order; I don’t know if that matters but as an engineer, process is important!

Death Is an Illusion (redux). From novel "What Is to Be Done"
The Impossible is not Possible
Every Villain Is a Tragedy

Poems from 2024

Most my 2024 poems tell the story of Kyle and Isabelle from my novel “The Dangling Conversation.” Read the poems and then read the novel and tell me if the stories are the same. READ 2024 POEMS.

Poems from 2023

My list of 2023 is short. Most are from my novel “The Dangling Conversation.” Others are about world conflicts. READ 2023 POEMS.
