Poem by R.M. Dolin, 2013
Agenda Seven
The needs of the many go unheard even as the courageous mouse takes a stand against the descending hawk. The last great act of defiance, while romantically heroic, is a one-sided whisper fading into forgotten echoes.
In a perfect world, the needs of the many outweigh
the desires of a government;
at least in theory. Saint Jude groans
as government grows increasingly willing to be blinded
by the greed of now. They are watching.
We are watching.
Is it even possible to reconcile our story
between the false promise of desire
and cold hearted inevitability?
