This is a nicely balanced herbal chicken made in a slow cooker. It takes over five hours to prepare but if you have the time its a nice option for something different.
Ingredients
- 4 Bone-in chicken breast halves, or, 8 bone-in thighs with the skin removed
- 4 oz Chicken broth
- I TBL Olive oil
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp Season salt
- 0.5 tsp dried Thyme
- 0.5 tsp dried Basil
- 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
Process
- Mise en Place: Measure and prepare the ingredients prior to starting.
- Pat dry the chicken pieces and brush with olive oil.
- Mix all the spices together and rub onto the chicken
- Place pieces in slow cooker, add broth and cook 4-5 hrs until meat is 160 F near bone.
Note: This usually turns out better using Sous Vide if you have one.
