Pork Rub (Paste)

This recipe is intended for preparing Pork for grilling, frying, or oven roasting/baking. It’s a paste versus a dry rub so you will want to brush it on. The rub is for ~1.5 lbs of pork chops or fillets but you’ll have to decide how to adjust for you meat.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Pepper
  • 1 TBL Olive oil

Process

  1. Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
  2. Mix rub’s dry ingredients together, then add oil to make a paste.
  3. Pat pork steaks dry with paper towels and rub both sides of meat with paste.
  4. Let pork rest for ~15 mins (up to an hour) as it comes to room temp.
  5. Grill, fry, or oven roast/bake the pork.
