Fish Taco Rub

Making good fish taco starts with a good fish rub, and while this is good for tacos, you will find yourself wanting to use it in other fish recipes. I like to use this when I am pan frying fish as it give a distinctly Mexican spin on an otherwise pedestrian dish. Lent goes on for many Fridays, so you have to be creative.

Ingredients

  • 1 TBL Olive oil
  • 1 TBL Butter
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp Cumin powder
  • 0.5 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper

Process

  1. Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
  2. Mix fish spices
  3. Brush both sides of your fish fillets with olive oil.
  4. Sprinkle the rub onto the fillets.
  5. Bake or pan fry the fish.
