Crispy Air Fry Baked Potatoes

In a bind for time, she’s on her way over and you forgot about the baked potatoes to go with your gourmet grilled flank steak. Not to panic, this air fryer recipe is ready in 30 minutes and makes a great potato that’s crispy on the outside but tender and moist internal. Also, next time when you better prepare you can this recipe for oven baked potatoes.

About potatoes: Russet and Idaho potatoes are best for baking because they’ll render a moist and fluffy finish. If you go with Yukon Gold or red potatoes that are waxier, you’ll get a more buttery skin but the internals won’ t be a moist or fluffy (because of the added starch). On the flip side, Yukon Gold have a high level of starch and are best for mashed potatoes. For roasted potato wedges, the red potato offers a great compromise.

Ingredients

  • 4 Russet potatoes – can also use Idaho
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powered

Process

  1. Mise en Place – Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
  2. Thoroughly wash and dry the potatoes.
  3. Coat each potato with olive oil.
  4. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.
  5. Poke all over with fork.
  6. Place in air fryer at 400 F for 35 mins, rotating every ten mins.
    • If oven baking, it will take an hour.
  7. Internal temp should be 120 F, so it may take a few more mins.
