Cowboy Beans in Slow Cooker

Cowboys are never going to upstage a French Michelin three-star restaurant but that doesn’t mean they don’t make tasty cuisine. Here is a three-bean recipe that pretty much lays out the ingredient list in its name, read on to learn more.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Hamburger
  • 0.5 lb Bacon – chopped
  • 28 oz can Pork & Beans
  • 15 oz can Kidney beans – rinsed and drained
  • 15 oz can Lima beans – rinsed and drained
  • 8 oz Ketchup
  • 8 oz Brown sugar
  • 2 Onions – diced
  • 1 tsp Prepared mustard
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Process

  1. Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
  2. Heat skillet and cook hamburger and bacon.
  3. Stir cook meat and remaining ingredients into a slow cooker on Low.
  4. Cook until thickened, at least three hours.

Note 1: Can add salsa and other spices to personalize.
