We all know that apples and pork marry well together, and pork does good with garlic, so, what if we combined the two into an apple-garlic pork entree. This does take some time though, at least 10 hours so plan accordingly.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs Boneless pork loin
- 12 oz Apple sauce (or apple jam)
- 4 oz Water
- 3 Garlic cloves – minced (2.5 tsp)
- 1 TBL dried Parsley flakes -or 3 TBL fresh
- 1.5 tsp Kosher salt
- 1.5 tsp Pepper
Process
- Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
- But roast in half and rub salt and pepper over all surfaces.
- Place roast in slow cooker.
- Combine apple sauce, water, and garlic. Pour over roast.
- Sprinkle with parsley.
- Cover and cook 8-10 hrs until center is 150 F
- Remove from slow cooker and let rest 10 mins. Retain juices.
- Slice into serving disk and dress with juices.
