Poem by R.M. Dolin, April 9, 2026
Unexamined Life
I don’t defend my choices
any more than regret
their outcomes,
but once in a while,
if you catch me on
a philosophical slant,
I’ll talk about fate
and the way it weaves
through my life
with surgical clarity,
but even that requires
far too much commitment
to things I’d rather leave
unexamined.
From chapter one of the R.M. Dolin novel, “An Unsustainable life – The Book of Issac.” As a young adult, Issac has already had to deal with his share of tragedy that caused him in many ways to be the person he’s become. He accepts himself and is content with his choices.
