Combining two great aspects of cuisine, slow cooking and sesame chicken. I like to use thigh meat, as it has better taste and texture than breast meat. This version will have a Korean style barbeque sauce and this is where you can add your personal flare.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs Chicken – boneless and skinless
- 4 oz Honey
- 2 oz Soy Sauce
- 2 TBL Ketchup
- 2 TBL dried Onion
- 1 TBL Olive oil
- 2 tsp Cornstarch
- 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
- 3 TBL Water
- Sesame seeds to taste
Process
- Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
- Spread chicken in base of crock pot.
- Mix honey, soy sauce, ketchup, onion powder, garlic powder.
- Pour over chicken.
- Cook on low for 3-4 hours.
- Remove chicken and set aside.
- Mix water and cornstarch to a slurry. Add to sauce.
- Cook on high until thickened, ~10mins.
- Cut chicken into bite sized pieces.
- Stir chicken into sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
