It’s easy to fall in love, especially with someone as profound as you. A tender touch, a gentle smile, the warm way you hold me at night to reassure my anxious soul, this is all that's required. It’s equally easy to fall out of love as things get hard, or stale, or the path we're on becomes fraught with obstacles so overwhelming we lose track of both our distant horizon and shared sense of navigation. Real love lives between our first embrace and a final farewell I pray never comes. I know our love is real because when you shattered my heart into a million broken pieces, I couldn't prevent myself from loving you a million times more.
Background poem for the novel, “The Dangling Conversation.” Kyle pleads with Nadia to reconsider.
