Companion poem of chapter 25 in the R.M. Dolin novel, "What Is to Be Done"

The passions of a Padre,
as with any man,
can scream as loud for justice
as those laid quiet by bullets
and people too busy to participate.
There are always those
who act in defiance,
welcoming the chance
to stand up even as
the world rotates
on a much grander scale.
The Black Madonna of Czestochowa.
Saint Mary’s Dawn.
Miracles turned to legend.
Or is it, necessarily vice versa?
From the R.M. Dolin novel, “What Is to Be Done.” Jake reluctantly attends church with Sympatico. Padre uses their presence to give a powerful sermon on persistence.
