As you might have already surmised, this cocktail originated in New York, but even so, it’s still pretty good. To make it right you should use Rye whiskey but you’re okay with a good bourbon, just don’t cheap out and use Canadian blended whiskey. This drink meets the requirement of a classic cocktail, alcohol, sweetener, plus bitters, which means its an old school classic.
