You are my angle,
taking your share
of me,
from me,
in deep breaths
and tender touches
that are nothing more
than memories too treasured
to ever be real.
Your playful way to tease
holds me
the same intoxicating way
moons rise over the Sangres
or Wind dances down arroys
telling Coyote to it’s okay
to allow the cathartic call
of nature to steal away
everything you hold dear.
From the R.M. Dolin novel, “What Is to Be Done.” Jake sets up to watch the moonrise allowing the aromas emanating from his barrel room to transport him back in time to the first time he and Emelia saw the property, and how Emelia made the moment special.
