He’s Already Made Up Her Mind

We've been here before
and now is not a time for laughter
Wind warns knowing
he won't listen.
The path is clear
when often traveled
but dangerously easy to
overlook signs to guide your way.
He chooses to believe,
as he always does,
the heart finds its home.
The tenderness of her touch,
the soft way she sings to his soul,
the warm way her smile
signals she's already
made up her mind about him.

"I think I thought I'd love you,"
she tells him one more time
worried he won't listen.
"Some things I'm sorry to say,
simply can't be learned.
If I had more time to
think this through,
it wouldn't change the outcome,
because dear one, I've already
made up my mind about you."
