No knows for certain
where a waterfall begins,
or when consequences of change
first cascade toward revolution.
Anyone willing to be honest knows,
government lies to their people.
And in these lies we find
seldom spoken truths,
no matter how hidden
or how hard we’re told to avoid
what cannot be unseen.
These truths,
like traces of water
in high meadow snow,
ultimately reveal
the derivation of destiny.
From the R.M. Dolin novel, “What Is to Be Done.” Jake’s conned Miguel into a high-stake card game to win Sympatico’s freedom. When he does win, Miguel refuses to set her free, forcing Jake and the rest of the subversive Americans for a New America (ANA) to threaten him with Cyber-retaliation.
