Basic go-to recipe for carrots that takes ~20 mins.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Carrots – washed and rubbed
- 2 TBL Butter
- 1 tsp sugar
- 4 oz Water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Process
- Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
- Wash carrots and rub off stringers. You can peel them if you must, but you’ll be missing out on a lot of healthy stuff.
- Can slice, dice, cube, or julienne.
- You could leave whole, but the water has to cover them in the sauce pan, so, your call.
- Place all the ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil and cover.
- Reduce heat to simmer and cook 5 mins.
- Uncover pan and raise heat slightly. Cook until all the liquid evaporates (~15mins)
