Cooked Carrots

Basic go-to recipe for carrots that takes ~20 mins.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Carrots – washed and rubbed
  • 2 TBL Butter
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 oz Water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Process

  1. Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
  2. Wash carrots and rub off stringers. You can peel them if you must, but you’ll be missing out on a lot of healthy stuff.
    • Can slice, dice, cube, or julienne.
    • You could leave whole, but the water has to cover them in the sauce pan, so, your call.
  3. Place all the ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil and cover.
  4. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 5 mins.
  5. Uncover pan and raise heat slightly. Cook until all the liquid evaporates (~15mins)
