Apple Cider Glazed Pork Chops

This recipe is intended for the grill, but you can also pan fry the pork chops or even oven bake them, it just won’t be as good . . . I’m just saying.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Pork Chops – bone-in and thawed
  • 4 Apples – cut in half and cored (to be grilled)
  • Rub
    • 2 tsp Brown sugar
    • 2 tsp Chili powder
    • 1 tsp Garlic powder
    • 1 tsp Salt
    • 0.5 tsp Pepper
    • 1 TBL Olive oil
  • Apple Cider Glaze
    • 12 oz Apple cider
    • 2 oz Maple Syrup – don’t use the sugar imitation
    • 1 TBL Dijon mustard
    • 0.5 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
    • 0.5 tsp Salt

Process

  1. Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
  2. Put glaze ingredients in a sauce pan and simmer to reduce.
  3. Mix rub’s dry ingredients together, then add oil to make a paste.
  4. Fire up the grill to high.
  5. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and rub both sides of meat with paste.
  6. Sear both sides of the Pork Chop on the grill (~6 mins per side).
  7. Remove from grill and let rest ~5 mins.
  8. Just before serving, add the glaze to your presentation side of the Pork Chop.

Note: When you place the Pork Chop on the grill position so the bone is at a 45 deg. angle from the grill grates, this makes nice presentation marks.
