Companion poem for chapter 26 of the R.M. Dolin novel, "What Is to Be Done"
Read chapter
The pendulum swings in no ones favor,
but it renders verdicts just the same.
If life were fair
we’d all own beach front property
along with a wilderness cabin
to get away,
but that’s not how the pendulum swings.
If it weren't for Chance,
nothing would change
and change does not imply
things get better,
at least that’s what the jury
tasked with rendering verdicts
has to say.
