What became of the road
we struggled so hard to travel,
what happens after the end
of our last longest day?
I still believe,
even after all that’s happened,
we will once again be together
even if time strongly disagrees.
From the R.M. Dolin novel, “What Is to Be Done.” Jake shares with Sympatico how profoundly important his blue bottle bourbon is to him as they talk about how long she can stay; Jake tells her that life is divided into seasons, and she can stay until the season of her healing is over. He then makes her join in the full moon ritual that he and Quando have.
