Companion poem for chapter 18 of the R.M. Dolin novel, "What Is to Be Done"
Read chapter
In quiet defiance we stand
asking wind about
the only things that matter,
like why breathing for some
is a challenge
but a joke for others?
Why rulers are allowed to make rules
while we requisition so few resources
for pushing back or plotting escape?
Why our this and that’s become
hooks and snags holding us in check?
Is the spirit of man meant for more?
Always unanswered,
we move undeterred,
secretly perfecting our craft
hidden from Watchers,
waiting for the rain that makes
revolution reality.
From the R.M. Dolin novel, “What Is to Be Done.” Jake apologizes for last while starting a batch of illegal mula ahead of interviews for the new distillery assistant.
