Companion poem for chapter 16 of the R.M. Dolin novel, "What Is to Be Done"
Read chapter, Read original poem
The world churns on
the chaos of context,
where getting it right
or assuming it's wrong
has less to do with what
gets said
than it does about what's heard.
If I say I love you,
and you don't question
with cautious concern
can I really be blamed
for misinterpreting
the context of my words?
From the R.M. Dolin novel, “What Is to Be Done.” Jake has had a mentally and emotionally exhausting day and unfortunately has drunk more than he should. In more reasonable moments he knows he shouldn’t do what he does, but unfortunately, this is not the time for reasonable moments.
