Poems from the R.M. Dolin novel, “The Dangling Conversation”
The One Who’s Left
So what that I tell my story
the way it happened,
only leaving some things out
because maybe it makes
me look pathetic.
I loved her
and she didn’t love me back,
maybe she did
before the tragedy,
who knows.
What I do know is
in the end she didn’t
and how sad and
pathetic is it to be
the one whose left
with a broken heart?
From chapter 18 of the R.M. Dolin novel, “The Dangling Conversation.” Kyle explains why, when telling his Maggie-story, he leaves out certain parts that may cause others to reach the wrong conclusion.
