Poems from the R.M. Dolin novel, “The Dangling Conversation”
Greater Evil
A man should be permitted
to face his accusers,
those who would kill his dream.
To look them in the eye,
see into the slimy nature
of their soul.
Tragically, that’s not the way
the real world rolls,
there’s always the person behind
the person who pretends
to lend a sympathetic ear
as they slit your throat,
while we’re left to sort through
who’s the greater evil.
From chapter 13 of the R.M. Dolin novel, “The Dangling Conversation.” Kyle explains the injustice he’s dealing with as he takes a stand against Machiavellian bureaucrats.
