Trophic Cascade – SUMMARY
A man’s been stabbed, a woman murdered, and given SYMPATICO’s violent history with MIGUEL, of course JAKE assumes the worst. Upon confirming she’s safe, for now, the Americans for a New America (ANA) launch their plan to take down Miguel’s human trafficking operation while dealing with ALVAREZ, the Watcher sent from Washington to investigate and eliminate suspected subversive activities. What they don’t know is that Miguel’s boss has just arrived from Mexico intent on taking Sympatico back and cyber tricks won’t be enough to stop him.
Complete at 93,000 words, TROPHIC CASCADE is the second in a three-part story about a gifted cohort of retired Los Alamos National Laboratory scientists who have had enough government dysfunction and are taking matters into their own hands. Set in the contemporary southwest of Northern New Mexico, TROPHIC CASCADE shows what can happen when the governed lose faith and trust in government.
Dr. Dolin previously worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, with research in the areas of Truth and Trust, he was the Los Alamos liaison to Homeland Security for incident response in the aftermath of 9/11, and he owned New Mexico’s first distillery, all of which qualifies him to tell this story. In addition to publishing over 100 technical papers, Dr. Dolin has written five novels, two nonfiction books, one cookbook, and a plethora of poems. Dr. Dolin’s novel writing method is to use poetry for character development and as a springboard for storytelling, as such, it is possible to enjoy his stories in both novel and poetry form.
