A poem by R.M. Dolin
Prison of Your Pardon
If you persist in lying
to yourself,
because that’s the prison
from which you need your pardon,
at least don’t lie to me,
we mean too much
to each other
for that kind of silliness.
You know it
and most certainly
you know
I know it.
From chapter 15 of the R.M. Dolin novel, “An Unsustainable Life – The Book of Darwin.” Tien confronts Darwin about his self-imposed isolation and what he thinks he’s doing to fix what he broke.
