Spinach Artichoke Flatbread

This is another quick and easy appetizer you can mostly make in advance so that on party night you can focus on your cuisine. In this recipe I use store bought crescent rolls, but if you want to do it right, you a homemade bread, like Naan, or, you could also do this on a flour tortilla.

Ingredients

  • I Crescent dough tube
  • 1 Egg – beaten
  • 1 tsp Parsley – chopped
  • Spread
    • 2 cups Mozzarella – shredded
    • 0.5 cup Parmesan – grated
    • 0.5 cup Artichoke hearts – finely cut
    • 0.5 cup Spinach – finely cut, if you use frozen, thaw and drain well
    • 8 oz Cream Cheese
    • 2 Garlic cloves – minced
    • 0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes

Process

  1. Mise en Place: Measure and prepare your ingredients prior to starting.
  2. Combing all the spread ingredients and store in fridge until 40 mins before serving.
  3. Assembly
    1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
    2. Line medium baking sheet w parchment paper or silplat.
    3. Flatten dough on baking sheet.
    4. Spread the mixture onto dough, leaving ~1/2″ around the edge.
    5. Brush edge with egg wash.
    6. Bake until crust is golden, ~30 mins.
    7. Remove from oven and let rest ~5 mins
  4. Garnish with more Parmesan and parsley.
  5. Cut into squares or diagonals.
